Vanessa Vivienne Lawrence CB HonFREng (born 14 July 1962) is a British businessperson and geographer, and former civil servant, who for 14 years, up until April 2014, was Director-General of the Ordnance Survey, Great Britain’s national mapping agency.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url = http://www.raeng.org.uk/about-us/people-council-committees/the-fellowship/list-of-fellows )〕〔2008 New Year Honours: 〕 She was the first woman to hold the post and at the time of her departure had held the chief role longer than any predecessor in more than a century.〔〔 She was elected an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2008. Lawrence at just under £200,000 was one of the 174 named individuals. In 2011, the list was updated, with Lawrence's approximate salary unchanged.
